Series Big Idea
The one whose name is above all names wants to be our Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace.
Series Overview
During the Christmas season, we celebrate the eternal God breaking into the time and space of our world. He wasn’t simply “born,” he “came into the world.”
Writing about 700 years before the birth of Jesus, the prophet Isaiah describes this coming King: For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. -Isaiah 9:6
During this series, we’ll examine each of the names Isaiah uses to describe Jesus. What do they tell us about who Jesus is and what he can do? And what does this mean for our lives?
His name is truly above all names. Let us worship him.
