Series Overview
Everybody’s busy. Everybody feels like there’s just not enough hours in the day for the time we need to get stuff done. But what if the way to solve our time issue was not about more hours, or even stopping doing some things, but instead it was about deciding what to invest our time in first? This series takes a look at the life of Jesus and the examples He gave us of how to prioritize what we do in our day. We will examine the three spiritual practices of Celebrate, Connect and Contribute as key to learning what it means to live our lives as Christ-followers and helping us decide what big rocks we need to put in our jar first, to make room for all of the smaller rocks that fill up our day.
Session 1 – Making Room: for God (Celebrate)
Big Idea: Make room for the rocks in your jar by putting in the time to be part of celebration services and personal devotional time.
Session 2 – Making Room: for People (Connect)
Big Idea: Make room for the rocks in your jar by putting in the time to be part of a small group and connecting with people during and outside of group.
Session 3 – Making Room: for Mission (Contribute)
Big Idea: Make room for the rocks in your jar by putting in time to leverage our time, talents, and resources for the good of others.
Session 4 – Making Room: for Rest
Big Idea: Make room for the rocks in your jar by putting in time to rest and reflect before you are out of energy from everything else.
Session 5 – Making Room: for Generosity
Big Idea: Generosity is not something that happens with whatever is left of our finances. It’s the counter-intuitive, seemingly wasteful allocation of our resources that puts the giving rock in our jar first.
Session 6 – Making Room: for a Miracle
Big Idea: We can’t make miracles happen, but we can make room for a miracle by asking despite our lack of belief that God can or will come through for us.
