Series Overview:
The Story of Everything will help people experience the “what we believe” doctrinal stuff of our church and what it has to do with our everyday lives. What we believe is a story of the God who is love, who is a community of grace within Himself, and how He extends that community in creation, and how reaching out to extend the community of grace culminates with the ultimate community of grace, otherwise known as ‘heaven.’  What we believe is not just a collection of our beliefs, it’s The Story of Everything.

Session 1: God
Big Idea: God is relational to His very core.  Through all eternity, He has existed as a community of loving Persons who live in grace with each other.

Session 2 – Sin
Big Idea: Sin is what went wrong with The Story of Everything. Sin is what is wrong with the world, including us.  Sin brings brokenness to the community of grace and love. But God is at work to save the world He made from sin. At its core, sin is a broken relationship with Him, which leads to all the other brokenness in our lives and in our world.

Session 3 – Jesus
Big Idea: Experiencing the fullness of Jesus the incarnation, the atonement, and the restoration is the centerpiece of The Story of Everything.  In Jesus, God brings everything back together in a community of grace.

Session 4 – The Spirit
Big Idea:  The Holy Spirit is God Himself taking up residence within us to empower us to live in grace and by grace.  He is Christ in us, the One we listen to and follow and rely on daily as we follow His leadings and rely on His power.

Session 5 – The Church
Big Idea:  The church is not an institution or organization. It is the central character at this point in the ongoing Story of Everything.  I become part of the story as I take my place as a celebrating, connecting, contributing member of the community of grace known as the church.

Session 6 – The Never-Ending Story
Big Idea: The final chapter of the Story is when time as we know it comes to an end at the Second Coming of Jesus.  Time will end when Jesus comes again, and The Judgment is the point in the story where a person’s story is never-ending with Christ or without Him.  For those who have come to personal relationship with Jesus, the story of the community of grace becomes our forever.
