Good Friday  | Unexpected Endings
Scripture: Luke 8:1-3, Mark 14:32-15:47

Mary Magdalene was in Jesus’ group of traveling companions. We don’t know much of her backstory, only that Jesus cured her of seven demons (Luke 8:1-3). Can you imagine the depth of her personal gratitude? Can you imagine the excitement she felt being part of Jesus’ inner circle? Jesus had completely changed her life, given her a new beginning. But then…the nightmare. During this Good Friday talk, we’ll tell the story of Jesus’ arrest, torture, and crucifixion through the eyes of Mary.

Message Big Idea: When all seems hopeless, know this ending isn’t necessarily the end.

Message Big Idea: This day could be your unexpected beginning.

On Friday, everything seemed over. All that Jesus had taught and claimed came crashing down. There was nothing left to believe in. There was nothing left to hold on to. On Sunday, no one was expecting a new beginning. No one was expecting a resurrection. That’s where our story for this Easter begins…
